Yes. For replacement blades, you can go to your clipper/trimmer product page on our site, scroll down to the ‘specifications’ section and see the blade type and product code of your product.

You can also see all the different attachment combs we have to offer and their product codes. You can get these from your local wholesaler.

Please note, if the battery is soldered into the unit, it may need to be replaced by an authorised repair agent.
Yes, in 99% of cases your Clipper or Trimmer can be repaired. Any of the Wahl Authorised Service Agents will be able to help you. :)
This is not a simple answer as several factors influence the cutting performance of your clipper:

1) Apply 2 drops of clipper oil to the blades and test cut again. (Oil lubricates the blades and allows them to run at the correct speed. It also helps the clipper run cooler.) Refer to our Blade Care Guideline

2) For CORDED CLIPPERS ONLY - To ensure your clipper is running at maximum power you will have to tune it to the power supply in your location. (This is because our power supply varies by +/- 10%) You will need a Flat Head or Phillips Head screw driver to do the adjustment.
IMPORTANT: In order to ensure that you get the longest life and best performance out of your clipper or trimmer; we recommend that you oil your unit before each use. To oil properly, the unit should be held in such a way that the blades are in a downward position. With the Clipper or Trimmer blade running, dispense 2-3 drops of oil across the top blade (Use Wahl Clipper Oil ONLY! Other oils will gum up the blades). Wipe the excess oil so it does not run into the motor compartment. Oil in the motor compartment will eventually lead to a poor motor performance. Blades should be oiled after using disinfectant or sanitizing solution.
Blade Care Guideline
The best way to clean your blades is to simply hold your unplugged clipper at a downward angle and wipe off the excess hair with a cleaning brush, followed with a drop of oil. Also make sure to unscrew the blades and brush out any cut hairs that may be jamming the blades. Reattach blades and adjust blade alignment which needs to be reset after removing the blades or tuning your clipper, as this will affect the blade alignment.

Oops – this usually happens if the dryer has been dropped. The mounts that hold the motor in place may have broken and the dryer fan is rubbing against the body of the dryer. Do not use the dryer, as you may burn out the motor. The dryer will need to be returned to one of our Authorised Service Agents .
Yes, usually this means the heating element is not working. This can be replaced by one of our Authorised Service Agents.
We strongly recommend to NOT cross your blades between categories (Human and Animal) as they are made to be put on different kinds of clippers. Using an Animal Blade on a Human or a Human Blade on an Animal can damage your high-quality tools.
To put this in the nicest way possible… you should not!! And we will explain why… All Wahl Appliances are made to run on the specific power supply and meet the safety standards for their designated areas. Using a high voltage appliance on a power supply it is not designed for will cause damage to the appliance and may cause personal harm. Any item purchased from an international supplier will not have an India Safety approval, hence it will not be covered by any warranty or insurance should a major fault occur.

We have PDF’s on How to look after your Clippers and Trimmers , and the product pages have a ‘compare’ feature which can also help educate you on our different products.
Maintaining and looking after your clippers and trimmers is vital to ensure longevity of your product. We strongly recommend to always clean, sterilize and oil your blades after each use, then to store them in a low humidity environment, as this will help avoid corrosion.
If your product is still current, you can look at the product page on our website and in the ‘specifications’ section you will see the standard blade type and product code. If it is not current, you can take it into your local Shaver Shop and they will be able to let you know what type you need and even order one in for you if it is still available!
Everything you need to know about Cleaning, Sanitizing and Oiling your Blades can be found here!
We recommend storing your blades in a low moisture environment to avoid corrosion. A padded blade storage case or pouch will help keep them safe and keep them from getting chipped or dropped which can break them or knock them out of alignment.
Styling Products Wahl heated styling tools are easy to use and require little maintenance. Make sure your hair is completely dry before using and always allow the tool to cool before storing. Store your tool by loosely wrapping the cord around its base and inspect regularly for cuts and nicks in the cord. Should you find any, discontinue use. Avoid getting the tool wet.

Wahl Hairdryers Wahl hairdryers are easy to use and require little upkeep. If necessary, you can clean the outside of the dryer with a moist rag or sponge (when unplugged). The filter screen can be easily cleaned using a vacuum. Store the dryer by loosely wrapping the cord around its base and inspect regularly for cuts and nicks in the cord. Should you find any, discontinue use. Avoid getting the tool wet.
On any cordless rechargeable product, you must use the unit frequently to keep it operating properly. As stated in the instruction booklet, you should run the trimmer’s battery completely dead at least once a month, otherwise, if you only use the unit two minutes every day, eventually it will work for only two minutes every day, eventually it will work for only two minutes between charges. Thus, to prolong the life of your unit, you should completely discharge the battery at least once a month.

Nearly all Wahl clippers feature a sealed unit design therefore disassembly for cleaning is not required. However, products with a snap-on blade design may be removed to allow for more thorough blade brushing/cleaning. Please do not dismantle the snap-on blades as this will affect the tension on the blades. Refer to our Blade Care Guideline for more information.
Lithium Ion has higher energy density than most other types of rechargeable batteries. This means that for their size or weight they can store more energy. Lithium Ion also operate at higher voltages, typically about 3.7 volts for lithium-ion vs. 1.2 volts for NiMh or NiCd, essentially doubling the run time off a much short charge time!

Lithium-ion batteries also have a lower self-discharge rate than other types of rechargeable batteries. This means that once they are charged, they will retain their charge for a longer time than other types of rechargeable batteries. NiMh and NiCd batteries can lose anywhere from 1-5% of their charge per day, (depending on the storage temperature) even if they are not installed in a device. Lithium-ion batteries will retain most of their charge even after months of storage.
In summary; lithium-ion batteries can be smaller, lighter, have a higher voltage and hold a charge much longer than other types of batteries.
Good question! A clipper is intended for bulk hair cutting on larger areas, but does not cut extremely close to the skin. On the other hand, a trimmer is designed for edging, outlining, dry shaving and light shaping on smaller areas such as the back of the neck, around the ears, around sideburns and on your beard.
If your product comes into contact with water, we highly advise that you stop operating it to avoid serious injury. Unplug the device with dry hands first before handling it. Return the appliance to Wahl or one of our Authorised Service Agents for examination and repair.
This means the blades require oiling or your power screw located on the right-hand side of the clipper requires adjusting.

To adjust this, plug in the clipper and turn it on, then turn the power/voltage screw anti-clockwise until the noise subsides to a standard running noise, then carry on and adjust it a further quarter of a turn. If adjusted correctly this should have solved the problem. Alternatively, please refer to your instruction booklet.
This is quite normal. The motor is electromagnetic and depending on how it catches the flow of electricity, can make a loud noise (similar to a hand clap) when first switched on, but this does not mean the clipper is faulty or unsafe to use.
You can purchase replacement blades, extra add-ons and accessories from any of our trusty Retailers!

Buying clippers can be extremely overwhelming, which is why we have tried to make this process easier by looking at the ‘I’m Trying To’, and ‘Product Type’ Filters located on the left hand side of the product overview pages.

From here you can select what animal you are grooming as well as what you are after in a clipper (corded or cordless). You can also use the ‘Compare Product’ filter to see the difference between each product.

If you are still stuck and confused, do not be alarmed! Our customer service department is always here to help. You can either call or email to get more information on our products and remember, there is no such thing as a ‘silly’ question! 😊
It is important to remember that certain clippers can only take certain blades. If you are looking for a replacement blade for your Clipper and are not sure which one it is, you can locate the blade type and product number under the ‘Specifications’ section in the Clipper product page. If you are looking to buy additional blades and are not sure which one to get, you can check out our Animal Blade Guide here: Blade & Breed Cutting Guide
Maintaining your blades is extremely important to ensure durability and longevity of your grooming products. Keep an eye on our YouTube Channel for videos on cleaning!
Stay tuned for an instructional video on our our YouTube Channel on getting your blades back on!
The KM range have snap on/off blade sets that are not meant to be unscrewed. However, if you have accidentally done this, you are okay!

Putting these blades back on correctly can be extremely difficult so we highly recommend taking your blade and clippers to the closest authorized service agent and have then do it for you. Alternatively you can refer to this step by step guide to getting your blades back on: Blade & Breed Cutting Guide
Before clipping with attachment combs, try running the comb itself through the animal’s coat. If the comb will not go through the coat by itself, it will not go through the coat with the clipper on either.

Ensure that the animal is washed and brushed before doing any clipping or trimming so that both the blade and attachment combs can glide through the coat with ease.
Okay so….3 things;
1. If your clipper has a taper lever, ensure that this is open to the longest length. You want the two blades furthest away from each other to get the longest length possible.

2. If your clipper has our 5-in-1 adjustable blade set attached to it, ensure that this is at the #9 setting to give you the longest possible length. Again, look closely at the blades when adjusting them to see that you are selecting the setting where the two blades are the furthest away from one another as possible.

3. If you have done one of the above and still think your clippers are cutting too short then we highly recommend purchasing some attachment combs to achieve your desired length. These can be purchased individually or as a set.
Let’s start with an extremely important fact: your clipper should not be running for longer than 30 minutes at a time. Clippers have powerful motors and all motors can over-heat, which is why we recommend turning off the clipper whenever you are not using it.

If you are brushing whilst grooming, simply turn the clipper off and let it rest while you brush, giving the motor and blades an opportunity to cool down, then turn it back on when you go back to clipping your animal.

If you have heat-sensitive animals, we recommend also switching blades multiple times when grooming to ensure that blade is always at the desired temperature.

Clipping large animals can be difficult, which is why we have designed Extra Wide Blade that allows you to cover larger areas at a time compared to our standard blades.
Not washing your Horse or Animal before clipping is essentially the same as getting a brand-new sharp knife from your kitchen draw, taking it to your back yard and dragging it through the dirt. If you clip with a dirty coat, you are running it through dirt which will destroy your blade and the outcome of your clipping. To ensure longevity and durability of your tools, always wash and brush the coat before grooming.
We strongly recommend to NOT cross your blades between categories (Human and Animal) as they are made to be put on different kinds of clippers. Using an Animal Blade on a Human or a Human Blade on an Animal can damage your high-quality tools.
